Professional Certifications in Feline Nutrition

The Feline Nutrition courses introduce students to what felines are designed to eat and how this pertains to a species-specific diet. Through these courses students will understand the merit of food products available, versus the nutritional quality, digestibility and purity of biologically appropriate foods and therefore how to prescribe a complete diet that meets each nutritional requirement for cats.

Understanding what felines are designed to eat through the various stages of the feline life is of the utmost importance for all training feline nutritionists.

The information contained in this course has been complied with the astute help of two very important Veterinarians who have made biological nutrition for cats a priority, to aid in reducing the more common conditions and diseases that affect so many cats in modern times. At the end of these courses the student will understand how nutrition can hinder or improve allergies or inflammation within the feline body. Understanding how nutritional diseases are caused and exasperated through nutrient deficiencies, therefore aiding students on how to professionally prescribe a complete diet that meets each nutritional requirement for cats dealing with disease on an individual basis.

Students have three (3) graduating courses to choose from:

Certification in Feline Biological Nutrition.
Professional Certification in Feline Naturopathic Nutrition.
Professional Certification in Feline Naturopathic Therapeutic Dietetics.

Please note: as stated in the Information Course panel on the right, there are no prerequisites for the Certificate in Feline Biological Nutrition course.

Those wishing to enrol in the Feline Naturopathic Nutrition or the Feline Naturopathic Therapeutic Dietetics, will need to study the Feline Biological Nutrition course prior to enrolment, or hold applicable qualification in Feline Nutrition is required (post-graduate/ veterinary medicine).

After completion, students have the opportunity to then continue their studies in order to obtain the Full Feline Naturopathic Medicine qualification. Refer to the Feline Naturopathy course page for details.

Please note that this is a research-based course delivered by qualified and experienced practitioners but is not an Australian government-accredited qualification offered through the TAFE system. Graduates are professional accredited through industry associations.

Course Dates

Students can enrol into the Certification of Feline Biological Nutrition online at any time.

Once completed, students can automatically continue with their studies to complete the Advanced Certifications in Feline Naturopathic Nutrition and the Feline Naturopathic Therapeutic Dietetics courses.

Courses are suggested to be completed within two (2) years.

Delivery Mode

Distance education via the Thinkific Learning Portal through online webinars, videos, audios, and textbooks.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the Certificate in Feline Biological Nutrition course.

Those wishing to enrol in the Feline Naturopathic Nutrition, will need to study the Feline Biological Nutrition course prior to enrolment, or hold applicable qualification in Feline Nutrition is required (post-graduate/ veterinary medicine).

Those wishing to enrol in the Feline Naturopathic Therapeutic Dietetics, will need to study both the Feline Biological Nutrition and Feline Naturopathic Nutrition course prior to enrolment.
Basic cat handling skills required and computer skills (minimum).

Assessment

Quizzes and examinations on the online learning portal, written assignments can be submitted by email or post, and via our online learning portal.

Course Materials

All course notes and textbooks are included in the course price.

Accreditation

Graduates are eligible to join the Small Animal and Equine Naturopathic Association or the International Institute of Complimentary Therapies as a full member.

Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, graduates will receive their Certification and an Academic Transcript.
