Professional Certifications in Feline Herbal Medicine
In our Feline Herbal Medicine courses, students enter the wonderful world of herbal medicine to learn the differences between historic holistic and conventional herbalism, along with the notable merits of herbal medicine methodologies in treating the feline body from the ‘whole-body’ wholistic perspective. Learning the foundation principles behind herbal medicine ensures the students have gained the required knowledge to comprehend the safety and efficiency of herbal medicine for cats.
As students progress through the individual courses they will learn the art and science of botany and how to grow and harvest herbs. Through an understanding of basic plant morphology, botanical terminology, taxonomy, and nomenclature, students learn to recognise micro and macroscopic physical characteristics of plants, identify plant specimens and describe relationships between plants and their environments. These courses serve as a foundation for the study of herbal pharmacy and pharmacology, and herbal therapeutics. Understanding the therapeutic actions of herbs for feline use, will aid in the students’ knowledge of what herbs are appropriate for each of the body’s systems.
Herbal Medicine for Felines provides the student with information to build professional credibility for herbal medicine as it should be applied in clinical practice. Understand and gain Herbal Medicine knowledge in order to comprehend the safety and efficiency of herbal medicine. Learn the identification, actions, constituents, indications, contraindications and combinations of Herbal Medicine in detail. It is important for our students to have a sound understanding of the active chemistry associated with plant medicine and the Pharmacokinetics associated that may influence the actives both negatively and positively.
Manufacturing and Dispensing of Herbal Medicine gives students an in-depth knowledge in how to convert raw plants to medicines. This is a wonderful journey and offers the herbalist extraordinary opportunities. The information contained in this course is unique as it covers many subjects that form the foundation of learning.
Students have five (5) graduating courses to choose from:
- Certificate in Herbology.
- Certificate in Herbal Botany.
- Professional Certification in Feline Naturopathic Herbalism.
- Professional Certification in Feline Naturopathic Herbalognosy.
- Professional Certification in Feline Naturopathic Medicinal Phytotherapy.
Please note: as stated in the Individual Course panel on the right, there are no prerequisites for the Certifications in Herbology, Herbal Botany and the Feline Naturopathic Herbalism course.
Those wishing to enrol in the Feline Naturopathic Herbalognosy or the Feline Naturopathic Medicinal Phytotherapy courses, will need to study the Feline Naturopathic Herbalism course prior to enrolment, or hold applicable qualification in Feline Herbal is required (post-graduate/ veterinary medicine).
After completion, students have the opportunity to then continue their studies in order to obtain the Full Feline Naturopathic Medicine qualification. Refer to the Feline Naturopathy course page for details.
